原件通高6.7厘米，蟾蜍长10.4厘米。1984年于慈溪峙龙口窑址附近采集，现藏慈溪市博物馆。
一片风吹欲卷、叶脉宛然的青翠荷叶上，蹲伏着一只昂首瞪目、作欲跃之势的三足蟾蜍。蟾蜍嘴微张，双目炯炯，若有所视。纹身华丽，目至颈部饰两片桃叶纹，背满布乳钉纹，并间以卷草纹，颇觉神奇。蟾蜍腹腔中空，背中央开有注水孔，可盛水。此器为文房用具，造型优雅灵巧，寓意丰富。
蟾蜍传说为月宫之物，古以蟾宫为月之代称，科举应试得中又称“蟾宫折桂”。蟾蜍水盂隐含“蟾宫折桂”的美好寓意，也往往表达文人雅士祈盼金榜提名，登科及第之宏愿。
The original object, 6.7 cm in height and 10.4 cm in length, was collected in 1984 near the kiln site of Zhilongkou in Cixi city. It is now in the collection of Cixi Museum.
A three-legged toad crouches on a green lotus leaf with its head held high and eyes glaring. as if it is about to leap. The toad’s mouth is slightly open, and its eyes are bright and piercing, as if it has seen something. It is covered with remarkable and beautiful carves, including two peach leaf patterns between eyes and the neck, the nipple patterns and curly grass patterns on the back. The vessel can hold water with the hollow abdomen and and a hole at the center of the back. It is a utensil used in the study room of scholars. This water dropper, elegant and delicate, is rich in symbolism.
Legend has it that the toad is an animal from the moon palace, so the moon is also called the Toad Palace of toad in ancient China, and succeeding in imperial exams is known as "plucking cinnamon flowers in the Toad Palace". The toad water dropper indicates the wishes of "plucking cinnamon flowers in the Toad Palace", and is often used to express the big wish of scholars to succeed in the imperial examinations.
