The original head, 60 cm in length, found in 1998 in Chejiu’ao Paimen village, Yuyao city, is now in the collection of Hemudu Site Museum. It was part of a stone figure in front of the joint burial tomb of Shi Songzhi, Prime Minister of the Southern Song dynasty, and his wife.

Shi Songzhi (1190-1256), Right Prime Minister and Military Affairs Commissioner in the Southern Song dynasty, held important positions in both civil and military affairs in the imperial government. He was conferred the title, the Duke of Yongguo, and honored as Junior Preceptor. After his death, he was posthumously granted the title of Duke of Lu State.

The figure, carved in a realistic way, portrays a dignified and good-looking young official, who, with regular facial features and solemn expression, wears a Song-style Five-Beam Jinxian crown adorned with brim patterns of auspicious clouds supporting the sun.
